I installed a Racor fuel water unit today....I have a question......on the mounting head....there are 2 inlets on incoming ...one outgoing....does it matter which ones are used and which ones are plugged...I connected the fuel line to the inlet on the left from the tank and plugged the outlet on same side....I ran the fuel line from outlet to the engine on the right side and plugged the inlet on that side.....I then primed the filter and started the engine.....the clear bowl filled with fuel....ran the boat for about 30 minutes....I did not see any water accumulation in the bottom of the bowl.....so my question is if there was water present in my fuel should it have shown in the bowl? I am having rough idling and running issues at low rpm....when the boat is close to WOT there are no issues and it runs great......any thoughts.? Thanks in advance!

No, it doesn't matter which port you use on the input.

Any water in your fuel will be trapped in the bottom. Sometimes, water isn't easy to see. Every once and a while I drain some off into a small glass jar I keep around for for such occasions. Usually find a couple of drops. A whole lot better to have than not need, than to need and not have.

Idle issues are usally dirty carbs or timing issues
