Bayliner 18 ft 125 mercury outboard year 2000 my problem is when fuel boat the gas pushes out as of back flow is this normal r am I fueling to fast

Gas might be pumping faster than what your inside hose will allow, did you try slowing down the gas pump and did that work??

ok thanks for your reply yes will try to pump gas into boat a little slower I hope this help

I have the same problem with my boat. The gas fill is on the side of the boat near the top of the gunwale instead of being mounted directly on top of it. Consequently I had to rig the fuel hose to keep gas from splashing back at me when I fuel it.
