I now run my boat in salt water so I was looking for a Fresh Water Cooling Kit. I found several kits that are half systems (block only), but could not find any full systems (block and exhaust manifold). Does anybody know if a full system kit exists for my engine? If it does not, anybody know why? 1969 Mercruiser 120 4 cylinder.

Agree with Bondo, at this point your better off without one. The engine already has 41 years of rust and scale buildup on the inside of it, if you add a cooler all the rust is just going to plug up the cooler. And it will happen very quickly.

I know that I am do for a repower and outdrive soon. I was wanting to get the new cooling system installed first and work out any potential bugs in the system on the old engine and possibly overheat it before forking over the money for the new one. The idea of running a new engine on salt water is more than I can bear.
Now back to my original question? Any answers?
