full throttle-half speed

have a 78 johnson seahorse 3cyl.-70Hp-
when i throttled today it took a bit to get up to full speed then after slowing down and re-throttling it wouldnt get up to full speed it was like i was only half speed at full throttle.Any ideas what i should be looking at?

Make sure your fuel vent is open and clean. Second do a compression test. It could also be the carbs. Redo them and make sure you get all the passages clean.
