In all the time I've hung out in iboats, this is the first that I've visited the Dockside Chat and I must say that I've had both a stimulating and very enjoyable time.<br /><br />This gang is positively Nuts-O!!! :) .. just the company I prefer. <br /><br />Just wanted to comment on how I've enjoyed the past hour that I DIDN'T intend on spending here, but now must get to the water ...<br /><br />Thanks, gang ... I leave you all with a smile.

I just joined up recently and havent made it outside of Dockside chat yet! I keep telling myself I am going to do some reading on the techie stuff but I always end up right back here. :D

I love the title of this section. To me it is exactly what it is. What I would talk with friends about while sittin' on the dock, sun going down, cocktail and a cigar. Perfect!! Man are we sure summer is over . . . :( <br /><br />Welcome to the dock, Pogo!!<br /><br />BTW, is 1, 2, 3 as far as you have gotten up to on the pogo stick? :p :p :p :D

But, Technoquiet, if you'll note the TIME of those posts, you'll see that they were all made on the same day within about the same hour. <br /><br />It WAS my first visit to the Dockside .. it's just that it turned out to be a much longer visit than I had imagined ... a la ... my post of appreciation.

LOLOL, Quietcat ... no, actually my Nick has nothing to do with a Pogo stick ... in fact, I've never been within ten feet of one.<br /><br />I picked up the nickname "Pogo" in school and it stuck. It's from the old Walt Kelly comic strip character (Pogo the Swamp Possum) who, in additon to being a lay psychologist/sociologist ("I have seen the enemy and he is us") was known to poke his thumb in the eye of propriety regularly.<br /><br />When I joined the Navy, I ran into other newbies whom I had known or played sports against in school and, needless to say, I hadn't outrun the nick ... it was even my assigned call sign for twenty years ... soooo ... I gave up.<br /><br />Stuff happens :)

Thanks for the concern, though.<br /><br />Regardless, TQ, I made NO posts to Dockside before the 19th and, yes, I did go in and out while signed in when I perused other forums, sent emails and did non-Dockside stuff.<br /><br />Gheesh!!! This started as a simple appreciative comment .. now I'm explaining myself? ... Truly, no good turn goes unpunished.<br /><br />And rather than risk imprecision, TQ ... visit my site. I ventured into DC after sticking in the "Boat Topics and Questions (not engine topics)" section for a couple months. Found DC and haven't looked back. Probably because I know the people on this forum well enough now that I can predict what they are going to say before they say it.<br /><br />It reminds me of a fraternity of sorts... once you're a member, you're welcome for life... unless you get too many zaps.. :D <br /><br />Welcome aboard... tie-up, weigh anchor or tread water a while. Develop that well-needed thick skin and you'll be an addict before you know it.<br /><br />Sean
