For your reading enjoyment;
Yesterday while finishing up my flush and clean and putting the coolant back in, I jumped up into the boat and without thinking, fired her up.
Guess what I forgot to do........:oops:
With in 2 minutes I had completely destroyed the exhaust shutter, impeller and housing, and the plastic housing thingy in the upper that the water pipe joins with the impeller pipe below.
Lesson learned, thankfully the local marina had all the OEM goodies I needed, and I had it all fixed up inside of 3hrs.
I`d have to say that that was one of the stupidest moments I`ve had in a long long time.
!!!!!! Water on then get in the boat !!!!!!

Good thing you caught it in time.
I don't have that tee shirt but I have the "forgot to turn the water back on after turning it off for a minute" tee shirt.

Glad you noticed and repaired the water pocket cover too... Most people miss that one. How about the small seal at the bottom of the drive shaft housing? (The one the lower drive shaft, from the gear housing, goes through) ;)

Alls good,
After everything cooled down, I disassembled and thoroughly checked everything, including the water pocket cover, and the lower shaft seal.
Taking her out again tomorrow for some more run time.
