I have a friend who has a 1968 17' Starcraft with an aq110/100 drive. This is the first one Ive ever heard of, but a couple of years ago he priced out a new joint when he was replacing his bellow and the price was $1800 for a new one. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper source(other than used)-it looks like a stick in a 3 ? 8 inch steel cylinder instead of a u joint aka the hypoid gear system? Is it almost cheaper to exchange it with a 270/5/80 gear assembly
Also, can anyone enlighten me on these old relics? I thought they were only available up until the early '60's?

Thanks

I believe you're looking for #65 in this link, correct?

I don't know where to find one. Could be tough to find and expensive like you mentioned.

Converting to another dirve may not be viable either as the 100's were so much different from the newer generation 270's.

You may want to call these guys. They seem to have most parts or may know where to find them. http://marinepartsexpress.com/

Sorry, not much help.

You are pretty much playin with a dead horse....those used a CV joint similar to a front drive car. I had one for about 10 mins in the early 90's before I off loaded that turkey due to lack of parts...good luck
