I have an Aristocrat Funliner don't know the year. I was told that the transom is only half wood at the top and the bottom is fiberglass. Is this true? What is the best way to go about replacing it? Also I found that the stringers are fiberglass and it has a double hull. Is there anything between the hulls that would need replacing? If so How would I go about seperating the hulls?
Thanks for any help it is really appreciated.

Re: funliner transom replace

Welcome to Iboats.

The only way to know for sure is pictures.

I doubt if it is a "double hull"

The stringers lie between the floor and the hull and is usually filled with flotation foam. If the foam is waterlogged than it will need to be replaced. Basically if you have rot then you need to cut the floor out drill core samples of everything scoop out the waterlogged foam and replace it.

There are several threads here on restoring old fiberglass boats.
To test the transom drill a few core samples.
