I thought this ad on CL was funny. Guy has a baby on the way so he needs to get rid of his boat. Looking to trade for motorcycle

I see those all the time. A lot of times it will say something like "I hate to sell it but I need the cash bad" then the next sentence says "willing to trade for boat, motorcycle, guns, etc..."

It doesn't make any sense to me either.

When I sold my last boat, I had "I'm only selling it because" in the ad. I'm only selling it because I don't have time to finish replacing the floor and interior.

I had a few people look, and after I sold it I got a few of the lookers call back sound pissed that I sold it so fast. It needed a interior rebuild, but the motor ran great.

My favorite is "Will you hold it for me for a couple of days so I can get the money" and then never hear from them again. I did that once and never again. I'll hold something but only with a nonrefundable deposit.

I gave up the motorcycles for boats, because I can fit my whole family in the boat. Not so much on a motorcycle!
