I really am thankful for all the help you guys have provided me. And im sorry for all the worthless questions i make you guys put up with. I finnaly figured out what the problem was..<br /><br />1984 65hp commercial evinrude<br /><br />1. The gray wire is suppose to be the tach wire. Well i guess back in 84 these commercial motors were not to prevalant with tachs. after searching through the manuels for the wire that actually did go to the stator, with some help, i did find that the gray wire goes no where, and the yellow/puple stripe wire located directly below went to the stator. <br /><br />So i looked in a manuel for a 1988 65hp comm. and found that they later had a jumper that went up to the gray wire from the terminal directly below it.<br /><br />ran the tach wire to the yellow/purple wire. And It now works flawlessly...<br /><br /><br />I just wanted to post this for a FYI in case anyone happens to see this problem agan.. i know it isnt common. But i finnaly unlocked the mystery!<br /><br />I would agan like to thank you for all your wonderful help!!!!!!!
