I just got a 1963 gale 15hp outboard. I've got it running real nice after a lot of adjusting points, slow speed mix, high speed mix. Now I want to put on boat [14 alum] and try it out. The factory air filter is only about 10% there, looks like it was some type of foam. Does anyone know how to make something that will replace it. Thanks for any help

If you want the complete airhorn/silencer, try the classifed ads at www.aomci.org
You'll have to re-adjust the air mixtures a little if you run it with the airhorn, but it does reduce the noise, a little. I use some wire screen to cover the mouth/throat of the carb, in case some debris gets inside the cover. No noise reduction, but you can't be too careful.
