A little info would be good.Model number, what do you need ,what have you done so far.
Your motor is similar to the Evinrude/Johnson of the same year.

Welcome to iboats.

Sparkplugs Champion J4C gapped at .030". Points gap .020". Low speed carb jet about 1 turn out, high speed carb jet about 5/8 turn out. You have a lot of choices regarding gearlube. Any mechanical shift marine gearlube will do. Compression should be somewhere in the 100psi ballpark. gas:eek:il = 50:1 (or one pint marine 2-stroke oil to 6 gallons gas). Most of the essential maintenance parts can be had from most anybody selling boats. A Johnnyrude dealer will have factory stuff while others will be able to provide Sierra or similar parts. Sierra makes good stuff. That's just general info. If you have any specific questions, fire away...

To get the flywheel off, you must use a puller that acts on the three bolt holes around the hub of the flywheel. A beefy harmonic balancer puller and three 1/4" - 20tpi high grade bolts about 3 or 4" long will work, or a proper flywheel puller.
That nut was put down at 105ft/lbs, and the flywheel is on a taper - you need the proper equiptment to remove it. Wedging the flywheel or using a puller that works on it's edges will simply destroy the flywheel. Working it with a hammer will simply destroy the crankshaft.

If it's giving you trouble, give the puller's bolt a tap with a hammer. Not a whallop though! Then torque it up again, tap and repeat until it pops off. Failing that, try heating it with a torch and applying penetrating oil. Again, this is with a puller that works on the three 1/4" bolt holes. (I'm just trying to make sure you do the right thing here - I've seen a few of these where the flywheel nut got removed with a chisel, and the flywheel was popped off using a sledge!)
If it's really, really stuck, do not remove the flywheel nut but just loosen it. Sometimes when they come off they jump right off the crankshaft, and sometimes they do that when you're not around.

Good luck!
