Re: Gale 40hp no start
Its gotta have fire, gas, and oxygen to run. Check for spark...pull and plug, hold electrode near block and turn flywheel. Is there a nice blue spark? If not, time for a tune up.
Is it getting gas? Pull the fuel line at the fuel pump and squeeze the tank bulb. If the pump's getting gas, check the fuel pump diaphragm (the rubber bladder). Do the carbs get gas when its choked? Are the carbs clean? Do they leak gas when its choked? May be time for a carb kit.
Take some time and run down this basic list logically eliminating possible sources of the problem. You'll get it running, just hope you own oil company stock...those old girls love to drink petrol.
