Gale 5 hp boat motor

Folks,

I once again need your expert advice on something. I have a friend that just got a 5hp Gale motor, and was wondering some information on it.

1. What fuel/oil mixture does it take?

2. The model# is 5D17BL and the Serial # is 730233; he is wondering what year it is, etc, so that he can try and order parts for it. Also, if anyone on here sells parts for this ole girl, let me know.

5D17B is a 5 H.P Deluxe Gale Buccaneer, Use TCW-3 marine oil at 24:1 mix.

5D17B is a 1960. Tell your friend to do himself a favor and get a parts book for the motor. Many parts are still available from any Evinrude dealer, and common parts are available right here at iboats.

But you are lost without part numbers. The Evinrude dealer doesn't have the book and can't look them up for you, so he will tell you to get lost. Surprising how his attitude will change when all he has to do is pull the part off the shelf and collect your money.....OR, he can add it to his regular parts order.
