Gale Bucaneer 5D11B new impeller question

Finally starting the refurbish on my 55 Bucaneer 5D11B. Does anyone know if the Sierra 18-3001 impeller is a direct fit?Catalog indicates it fits 54-64 5.5 E/J.
Gale pt# 277181. anyone have an interchange?
Motor appears to have had only just enough use to begin to wear the paint on the prop.Start rope is only slightly discolored. Carb, tank and and strainer are really clean.Of course coils are bad even though it still has spark.Appaerently must have whacked a rock one blade is bent when measured. Going to try to straighten unless I stumble on a better one.Gale pt # 591389.

I think what you will find is that the bottom-feed carburetors don't like fuel pumps. The line pressure tends to hold the float valve shut. Carbs for fuel pumps have the float valve tapered in the opposite direction. Been there, tried that, didn't work.

Might be too late to be helpful, but yes that impeller should fit. I recently put a 18-3001 in your Bucaneer's Viking cousin. Same lower unit as the Johnson/Evinrude 1954-55 except for the drive and shift shafts.

Thanks guys,I stumbled on the impeller info on ebay. Some of the venders have excellent application info both part numbers and motor application.At least for old OMC priducts.I found the impeller,a prop and coils
Free delivery on the coils,10% off on an allready reduced impeller,full return on the prop if not comepletely satisfied.Venders with extensive feedback.
