Need powerhead gaskets for Model 5D10b (1951-54). Can't seem to find them.

Part number for the one above the adapter plate is 550348. The one below the adapter plate is 551180. 550348 is listed as no longer available. 551180 is available, a Johnson or Evinrude dealer can special order it for you.

Some guy has been selling gasket kits for that motor on e-bay for a long time. Don't know if he's still there though.

Thanks - any idea of the gasket thickness? I may have to make them.
The two that I really need are the ones on the cylinders (ie water,exhaust)

Ouch. The following is a direct quote from the Gale factory service manual:

"Do not attempt to remove the cylinder side covers. It is almost impossible to re-establish a perfect seal in the field. If work of this type is necessary, the repairs should be made at the factory."

Just for the record, I have tried it myself and didn't do so good. I never succeded in getting them leak-free. But of course the factory is long gone, so you are on your own. They never did sell gaskets for those parts.
