I am buying a 25hp 1960 Sea King Gale Motor model numb. Gg8834a for $150 the guy just put new plugs and a pump in it. He started it up for me after a few cranks but it would not idle and there was gas coming from the carb. while he kept it going, i talked a guy and he said it could be the float. The compression was 100 on each side also. Basically I am just looking for some opinions on what else may be the problem and if you think I am getting a deal and just any other input on this model.

hard to tell without actually seeing the motor, but it sounds like a carb kit, which will include gaskets will fix things up. but if the carb housing is cracked or the fuel bowl is broke, then you'll need to find replacements. I've had plenty of gales and they do share a lot of parts with omc motors so getting parts is really not a problem. a 25 hp for 150 bucks is not a bad deal. in my opinion, 100 psi on each cylinder is good compression. if it were me, I'd expect to replace impeller, carb kit, LU seals and probably ignition components. All those parts will add up, and you may not need to do them all at once, but that'll be for you to decide.

I appreciate your input, the impeller has been replaced so thats a good thing. From what i heard everyone I have talked has told me the same thing so hopefully the problem will be fixed by doing these things. I will post as soon as I get the verdict.
