Just got a gamefisher 7.5
model # 217 586751
serail #48013147

I can't find the year it was made. after looking at posts and links
http://home.earthlink.net/~brixent/Model21758510-58882.htm I am just more confused than before. Can anyone tell me what year this motor is?

Also I have it mounted in a garbage can full of water. it starts and runs but I am worried the impeller (if there is one) is working correctly. no water or mist comes out with the exhaust. I am worried its not cooling, and I am going to burn it up. Do these little motors have an impeller? if so how do I know its working. IF not then how does it cool.

Thanks for your help.

Re: game fisher 7.5

I have seen a mention of 1984 with a slightly lower serial number, maybe that is why it is not on the list.

All Sears Outboards with model numbers 217.586000 and above where built by Eska Outboard in 1985 - 1986. Eska closed and stopped production in 1986.
Most of those motors used a 50:1 Oil Mix. Most used Plugs J-12-Y with a gap of .030

And yep It has an impeller and you will burn up the lower bearing and seal,
the impeller used is the 9.8 merc with 7/16 ID
