[Gamefisher9.9]

I was looking for a small outboard for my 12' Jon boat and came across this Gamefisher 9.9 hp unit. The guy told me he was out and it was running fine and just quit on him (motor turns over fine, flywheel spins free so not locked up). I suspect ignition, but have not even started checking...could be ANYTHING.

Dig deep $$$ or be patiant and join our ignition group and do some testing.
Ed Stoller is currently working on the 2 cylinder ignition, both sides seem to fail together but not always. there are a few test you can do.

Took the flywheel off and I found the issue...it is NOT the magneto...it's the plastic ring that sits on the crankshaft in teh middle of the magneto. The plastic 'ears' have broken off and were floating around inside and the magnet on this part came off, as well.

Diagram of part (from Sears) is part number 610880...of course, out of stock everywhere I have looked so far.

If anyone has one of these please let me know.

Try doing as 'mrcrabs' suggested. You also need to read 2 threads I just bumped back to the top.
