gamefisher 9.9 clutch?

hello,ive got a 9.9 gamefisher model 225 581998 engine starts great , runs good, problem is when in gear and at idle prop spins good but when you raise rpm feels like prop disingages,ive checked shear pin and its good.. question is is there a clutch that might not be fully locking up??thats how it feels, everything in lower unit is in good shape,any help would be appreciated . thank you

I think those props have a rubber hub due to the fact that theres more involved down there than the single cylinder models with just f-n, you need to scribe a mark across the center of the prop and hub, run it then check to see if the mark is still lined up.

That prop has a rubber hub in it. It's slipping. I doubt if anyone repairs the props for your outboard, so finding a new prop will be your next chore. Go to www.searspartsdirect.com, put your model number in and see if they have a replacement prop for you.

This is almost certainly your problem. There is no "clutch" that can slip in that outboard motor.

Props to fit Force 9.9 outboards from the same period will also work, and you might be able to find those for a little less money. Make sure that the prop you buy is a pin-drive prop like yours.
