gamefisher aircooled?

I ran my gamefisher out of water for about 4-5 minutes now it runs really rich and foils out I hear the exhaust is water cooled how do I fix this if I fried the water pump?<br /> shawn

The water pump is on top of the gearcase. There are probably just two nuts holding it on, one behind a small cover in the front. If you have the same pump I do, a 47-89980 Mercury impeller fits well.<br /><br />As you mentioned, just the exhaust is water cooled. The motor is air cooled just like a lawnmower. But I can't see where it would cause problems with the powerhead if the pump burned out. If yours has a Tillotson carb, there might be a small orange rubber thing inside a hole on the flange that mounts to the motor. It's a fuel pump and they tear and leak gas into the crankceas. I think you're more likely to find your problem there.
