I originally tried posting this question on my yahoo eska group but kept getting a error .Thanks for any help
Hi, I am new to the group and have a 7.5 gamefisher with the troublesome solid state ignition. I followed the instructions for the cap/diode replacement but still have weak or no spark. The engine will run for a couple of minutes then start skipping then die. No restart unless it cools down, during this time I loose the spark completely. I am wondering if the scr maybe getting hot then failing. My question is can the scr be bypassed on the board as well with a outside unit ? I have looked at the recommended websites for ignition information but have not found this repair being done. The motor ran very well last year but has been dieing more often and now it just wont hardly run. I have checked the wiring for chaffed areas also with no luck.
Thanks for any help Dwayne
