Re: gamefisher prop

I think you will find that is a Mercury prop. You may find a prop size and part number under the prop nut or on the barrel.

I've seen them on Ebay before, about $90 unless you want to wait for a cheap one to pop up.

Re: gamefisher prop

I believe
225 model number prefix indicates a Merc or Force motor Merc is an 8 spline I believe, Force is a 10
spline. There is a Quicksilver 9.9 prop on ebay now 10 spline. Ypou might check to see if they use the same pitch.E/J 9.9 and 15 use the same size prop.you may be able to get your prop repaired.

Re: gamefisher prop

The markings (if there is any left) on the prop should be FP715

Part # 710-FP715 - ALUM 8.375X6 - ALUM 8.375X6.0

FP715??? Is that the right prop for a 15HP Gamefisher/Force?

My 7.5 Gamefisher/Force has a 8x8 (or something close to that) prop. I'd think the 15HP prop would be the same or bigger, 8x9, 8x10.

Re: gamefisher prop

the markings on the prop are p-715, it turns at 6,000 rpm with a tiny tack intalled acording to my gps it will go 23 mph on my 14ft boat which isnt to bad ,the prop is a little beat up so i think a new prop might bring it down a hundred or two rpm? and maybe gain a little speed? i will call marineexpress see if they have it in stock. thank you everybody for your feedback, i know not to many people like force but i have to tell you that this motor has never let me down starts first pull everytime, idles great, maybe a little loud but hey its kinda cool, parts are sometimes a little challenging to find like props but i think its worth it .

Re: gamefisher prop

This is the one I was talking about, it's a plastic (fiber filled) prop though. FP6477 8 x 9 1/4. (think this is the one SS was talking about too)

prop

If your prop is beat up, the RPM's will probably go up with a new prop of the same size.

I'm with you on liking the Force OB, mine runs really well, very strong for a 7.5HP. Too bad I have to get rid of it next year, tree huggers won't let me run it out here come 2012  Have to go 4 stroke...

Actually its likely they won't allow you to run a motor that diesn't meet emmision requirements
there are direct injection 2 strokes that do.

Re: gamefisher prop

^^^ Yes that's correct. You can run an injected 2 stroke, carbed 2 strokes are being banned.

I have a 10HP limit on my hull, so not sure if there is a 2stroke that small. Still have a year to figure it out.....

Re: gamefisher prop

I bought the 8/9 prop off eBay, should be interesting to find out how performs, should I expect a speed increase?

Re: gamefisher prop

What kind of boat, loaded weight? It really depends on how you are loaded and if the OB can reach it's WOT RPM, if it can still reach WOT RPM you'll see some increased speed as you are going from a 6P to a 9P.

Re: gamefisher prop

Gee I missed that we were working with a 6" pitch .A 3" change is a lot on a little motor.
I believe the motor is rated at 4750-5750 So with luck you might fall into the bottom end.
Not great but may be ok if it hasn't ruined your hole shot and load ability..If it's al you may be able to have some pitch removed.Lightly loaded if it can twist the prop you may really zip.
Your 23mph was doing darn good.
