Garboard drain plug

1996 cobalt 220 lost my drain plug think it's 1/2 brass. Not sure what kind to get stainless or brass and how best to install. - any thread sealer etc needed.

Any other plugs etc I need to know about

This is my first time launching my self and the winterizing. I'm in the northeast freshwater boat has a mercruiser 1995 5.7lx tbi with bravo I stern drive . Any tips

Ayuh,... You can probably get a brass 1/2" pipe plug at yer local hardware store,....

Just screw it in, 'n snug it tight, no pipe dope necessary,...

All the other plugs should have been reinstalled, but incase they haven't been; back the trailer in the water, start it up and watch the motor for a minute. If any of the other plugs have not been replaced you will have water coming in.

Now if you have some muffs, connect a garden hose to the muffs and start it in the drive way and check the same way

You can get the plugs at any hardware/sporting goods store. I got mine at Walmart. There is one in the Yukon and one in the boat. I also have the orange one on my boat key ring in case.
