Garmen GPSMap 162: Blank Scree

First: my Garmen GPSMap 162 has a blank screen, but has power.

Long shot: Any suggestions?

Second: Let's say it's shot; do I need to rewire if I get a new model (162 discontiniued) or would a more current Garmen hook right up to the antenna and multi pin connector?

Garmin's live, online tech support should be able to help you.

I bought my 162 new back in 1998-1999. Tells you how you old it is. Sold mine 5 years ago and Product support was discontinued before that.

Don't bother messing with it. Get a new unit. Nothing is reusable

First try powering up while holding the QUIT button. Second, your power cord may or may not work with newer units. Check the SKU for the 162 cord, then look up compatibility with the unit(s) you're interested in ...
