Hi all,
I have a Garmin GMI10 that I'm trying to send GPS data to using nmea 0183. I have other devices able to receive GPS coordinates from the same charter plotter, so I'm sure that is configured correctly and sending the correct sentences.

So, Garmin recommended the following cable https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/15547 (010-11129-00) cable to connect NMEA0183 to my GMI10. However, the wires on it don't correspond to the nmea wiring in the GMI10 manual. For example, there is no red positive cable.

This is the manual I'm using: http://static.garmin.com/pumac/GMI_10_INST_EN.pdf

I currently have the following:
Blue: nmea out +
Brown: nmea in +
Black: earth

But I'm not seeing location data on the GMI10.

Any help identifying the cables would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

No red wire required.

Black goes to system ground.
Blue connects to “device” in.
Brown connects to “device” out

Easier to use NMEA 2000 if you have a backbone installed

Thanks guys. I’d not connected the green and white cables as I thought they were CanNET. They were the earth connections for nmea0183.
