two wires to gets it running and can be soldered for a permanent fixing off an accesory switch in about 1/2 an hour.fitting your transducer could take a considerable amount of time with crawling around your boat and fixing but 2 seconds to actually connect to the unit.i went for a thru hull fitting which keeps the transducer in the engine bay at the rear of the boat.now the installing of the unit depends on what style of boat you have as there quite large.i had a bowrider and installed it with a fitting to a verticle tube coming off the windscreen to the dash.i fitted this off amazon;Motorcycle Handlebar Mount for Camera Camcorder & Videocam by RAM Mount.number 40 after writing in motorcycle gps.it swivels in all directions
