i have put several post on here about my 90 hp vro v4 being hard to start when it is warm. i was told that the carbs need to be rebuilt. i met someone else on the water and he said that is said i should run something in the gas to try to clean the carbs out and clean the tank. could anyone tell me what the best stuff there is to put in the tank.
this boat sat for 2 years after my friend had all of the stuff done to the engine. i had posted earlier that he said both carbs had been rebuilt. i was wrong because i called the place that was supposed to have done it and the pulled the order for me..all they had done was clean them. please let me know what u think. when i got the boat i had to pumo almost 9 gallons of bad gas out of the boat. do u think this gas treatment will help any? what is the best stuff to try

Re: gas additive to add to gas

If old gas sat in the tank and carbs for 2 years I would remove and clean it all including the fuel lines.

Gas additive will not clean a carb, it will help maintain a system, but not clean it.
Your best bet is to remove the carbs and clean them properly.

No magic elixir will cure the problem. Gotta overhaul the fuel system.

Once it is clean Stabil for ethanol can help keep it clean.
