gas and oil leaking out

So I have my first Mercury engine, 115 hp 2005 2 stroke...

When I trim the motor up for travel or launching it leaks gas and oil out and down into the splashwell area... I had someone tell me this is normal from the carbs??

Is that true? my 98 115 hp johnson never did this...

Check all fuel and bleed lines for leaks while running on muffs and cowl removed.Also remove air box to view carb throat not spitting back.Look in air box for excess spilt fuel.
