Just to let eveyone know that has one of these. The removal of the top pin was easy. Remove the keeper and drive out. The bottom pin which runs completely through the unit was siezed with corrosion. Driving was not an option. Didn't try heating due to the cast construction of the bracket. Used a grinder to cut through the unit and pin. The parts cost: unit $299.00, Pin $55.00, Bushings both sets $11.00. Labor quote $90.00 to $150.00. The dealer would have destroyed the lower pin as well. Time to put back together 20 min.

I cleaned the inside of the lower pin holes with a round file and emery then applied marine grease to both upper and lower pin holes.

anyone can email for help that runs into this problem. guillotg@bellsouth.net

Greg
