I am not sure if this is where to ask it. But i have a old gas tank maybe a original for this motor. if this tank is not good can i get a tank that work for this Johnson 10 hp qd 17.I am going to throw in a couple of pics . Is snowing in texas to day

That is the correct tank for that motor. If, however, it is rusted through, you will have to find a replacement as they aren't made anymore. Depending what might be wrong with it, most problems can be corrected. The dual fuel line that it needs and the engine-side connector can probably be found at vintageoutboard.com, tcoutboard.com, americanoutboard.com, sea-way.com, or lainge outboard. Many JohnnyRude dealers still stock the fuel line.

Don't give up on that old tank. They are valuable and rebuildable. Do you have the fuel connector off the end of the hose? They are valuable too, worth as much as the rest of the tank.

Yes I have the connector that goes on the end to the motor.

I did notice some rust spec very small in can what can be done about that? Or is it to late?

Many people swear by electrolysis although I've never tried it. Just Google rust removal electrolysis and you'll find a wealth of info.
