I have 1979 20 ft Openbow Caravelle. There is a gas tank (25+ gals) below the floor board. I leak gas when it is full. How do I access the filler hose connection at the tank? If I have to cut the floor board, where do I cut and how? Must be wood since there is a section where it is soft.

pull the carpet back. a lot of manufacturers have an access panel that is wood. usually held in place by a couple of screws. if your are leaking fix it now, or go to remote tanks. BOOM!!!!!!!

The filler is usually located on the top of the tank and is 1 3/4" in diameter. You should be able to follow the filler neck to the inlet even inside the boat. There should be 4 hose clamps on that neck. Two on each end. The hose is relativly cheap I would replace it. And the vent hose too. Check to see if thats where your leakin.
