I'll be taking my boat out for the first time in about a week, I have a 30 gal inboard tank. The man I bought the boat from said he put stabil in the gas when he winterized it.... will stabil protect the gas from the past 8 or 9 months??? I will be putting muffs on the motor before I take it on the lake...I'm just concerned.... Thanks

It would be fine even if it didn't have stabil.

Re: Gas from 2003

Almost all outboard and I/O engine manufacturers recommend using a gas stabilizer for periods of prolonged storage i.e.-winter storage. Following the owners manual recommendations for caring for your specific motor is the safest bet. You should be fine if you trust that a gas stabilizer was indeed added. Contrary to some beliefs, gasoline definately deteriorates over time and can cause major problems to the fuel delivery system and engine internal components. Good luck and enjoy!
