Gas in Oil maybe? Yamaha F80

I drained the oil today and noticed a faint gasoiline smell coming from the oil. It's going a sort of sick grey/brown color quite quickly after changing the oil. I have done about 15 hours since changing it last. I did a river trip and tried to WOT the motor on every trip out.

Is this typical of getting gas in there?

Does anyone know what could be causing gas to get into the oil in this engine? The F80 is basically the same as the F75 F90 etc in the US.

Anything I can check?

Is there a DIY test for gas (or water in the oil)?

I have posted already about this thinking it was water and have been advised to have a leak down test done.

if you do an oil change make shure you know exactly where the oil level is on the dipstick.
REMEMBER.

after you run the motor for 5 hours check the oul level again.

did the oil level stay the same?

if the oil level rises than yes you are getting someting (probbebly gas or water) in the oil.

could be leaking rings, valves, gasket.

yes a leak down would be in order wich is not a big deal.
