Gas in VRO Oil tank!!!!!!!! 25hp Johnson 1999

I noticed oil coming from the engine leaking out onto the foot. I noticed the oil tank was very full and some seepage coming from the top/cap. I opened the cap on the Oil tank to find a very liquid mixture of gas and oil in the oil tank. Looks like gas is backing up into the tank somehow. This motor has been sitting for about 5 years. I tuned it up (new plugs, carb cleaner in the gas, new foot lube) and it runs like a new motor. I thought everything was great until I found this. Is there a seal or valve somewhere in the oil injection system I could check? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

sounds like diaphram between the oil and fuel side of pump is shot. fuel side pumping gas into oil side. do not run the motor like that, it is not getting oil. either replace pump with a new mixing pump. or go to a premix pump, and premix your fuel/oil.

I have attached a digram of the fuel system. It appears to have a separate fuel pump and mixing unit. Would anyone have any experience with these mixing units? It looks like I might get by with something as simple as replacing an o ring....or is that just wishful thinking?

My humble opinion and for the cost involved.
Replace with a premix pump and mix your fuel yourself. Cheap insurance as long as you remember to mix your fuel.

You don't know what you'll find so your better off ordering the rebuilt kit instead of peice milling the thing back together.

I bought a new pump but I also bought a rebuild kit for something like $39 and rebuilt the old one for use as spare.

Looks like the kit is no longer available as well as the mixer itself. What would I have to do to bypass this entirely? Just unhook the gas line from it and hook it directly to the line to the carbs?
