gas leak gasket replacment cant remove plate

looking for the best way to remove the small screws holding the snending unit plate on the tank. I need to replace the gasket. my first thought is to drill the top and use vise grips to remove screw but im concerned with sparks an gas fumes . Any thoughts

If they're stripped you can remove them with an E-Z Out.
