Thanks to this forum my Merc finally has a new timing belt and has been re-timed. It's finally running on muffs for extended periods.
However, as you can see from this image of the middle carb, gas is leaking down above it from the top carb area. See pic.
Specifically, it looks like it's coming from here, where the little "cylinder" (16 in the diagram below) meets the base (#9 below).
This diagram shows the gasket (#13) that I think ought to be replaced. I can't really tell if it's in there or broken or shifted because the fuel line (which attaches to it) has very little give to it.
My question: has anyone else had a leak from here? It's kind of hard to see when it's running with the starter in the way but I think it's from here. Second, if the gasket is NLA, wtf do I do? Make a gasket out of something? Use Permatex?
