Do we really have to buy the expensive boat gas line? When my engine was installed the place that installed the engine does not look like they installed boat gas line. It has started to degrade but I have had it exposed to UV rays for quite some time. Just wondering

Re: Gas line question

In addition to that question. Should there be a gas shutoff so the engine can be drained of gas? If so where to put it? before or after the filter.

Re: Gas line question

Coast Guard reg . . .

Each hose between the fuel pump and the carburetor must be ?USCG Type A1?hose.

Each hose used for a vent line or fill line must be ?USCG Type A1? or
?USCG Type A2? hose.

Each hose from the fuel tank to the fuel inlet connection on the engine must be
?USCG Type A1? hose.

Each fuel line from the fuel tank to the fuel inlet connection on the carburetor must be above the level of the tank top or have an anti-siphon device or an electrically operated fuel stop valve.

Re: Gas line question

How can we tell what type we have? I believe marine quality is thicker and is not sold in Auto parts store.

Thanks for the reply.

any suggestions on placement and type of shutoff? I do not want to gum up the carbs again. My old boats had a quick connect I could take out. This set up does not.
