gas lines mixed up on 18.

i have just got an 1957 evinrude fastwin motorand i need to know which way the fuel lines go.i have it fuel line feed from tank into filter then filter to carb with return from crankcase back to tank.i changed it to this way p thought it made sence. motor still doesnt start does fire with either sorry ,need help dave.

not quite sure what you're asking, there is no return, there is a pressure line from the crank,thats if you are still using the old pressure tank. if you are using the original pressure tank, look where the lines connect to it, one says "fuel", the other "air". follow the fuel line up to the connector, then from the connector to carb. (if your tank wont hold pressure, your motor might start, but it wont run, make sure the cap is on tight, and loosen it off when not in use)

i have the fuel line going to the filter then to the carb the air line goes from the tank to the intake manifiold is this correct. it seems to have gas in the bowl but not getting into the venturi it has a good spark fired with either sorry wont fire by itself help dave

you asked if i had 2 threads and yes i did i m new to this i didnt know you should just update the old one sorry. the engine does have gas and pressure in the bowl but gas isnt getting to the venturi ,it has good spark but only fired with either.HELP

just responded to the other thread! i think i have some of this info figured out.....your lines are on correctly. you installed an in-line filter (is the direction of flow correct on the filter?). have you tried squirting some pre-mixed fuel into the carb or plug holes, to see if the motor actually will attempt to start? it does sound like you need a carb rebuild.
