gas/oil mix on 77 envinrude 6hp

I thought I had the right gas/oil mix at 32:1 for the envinrude 6.0 hp model 6704. A friend is saying 50:1. Is either correct?

50:1 is correct, Bassrat.<br /><br />JohnnyRudes before 1964 use 24:1, after use 50:1.<br /><br />32:1 is a compromise some guys use to make the older ones smoke less. It is risky in the older engines.<br /><br />Good luck.
