I have a 2000 model 60 hp johnson. It is in excellent mechanical condition and would like to know the best ration for gas:eek:il. I have been running on 100:1 since it was new and was just wondering if I should stay the same or maybe drop to 50:1. thanks for any and all input.

50:1 is the correct ratio, nf. You probably did it no harm running on 100:1, as long as you did not try long term storage.

Just curious, though. Where did you get the idea to run 100:1 in the first place?

JB, to tell you the truth, my last two boats were oil injection with the oil tanks on board. I bought this boat about 4 years ago and about a year ago I discovered the transom was bad so it has been sitting until now. I just replaced the transom and got finished last weekend. I was just putting fresh gas in the tanks and could not for the life of me remember how to mix it. I had in my mind to mix it 50:1 but when I measured it out, 16 ounces to 6 gallons sounded like a lot. I thought I would get on here and ask. Anyway, I will definitely go 50 to one. thanks for the response.
