gas/petrol PTFE/silicon tape fittings

Hello people,<br /><br />i think i read some where that you shouldnt use PTFE/ silicon tape on fuel/ petrol fittings. Is this correct? If so why? Thanks in advance.<br />Bob

I like tape BUT it seems better to use the correct sealer on fuel fittings<br /><br /><br />ONE of the big issues is makeing the fitting to tight from the reduced friction of the tape<br /><br />Another is tape getting into carb parts<br /><br /><br />tommays
