I was reading in the paper yesterday that the price of gasoline has fallen 6 cents/gallon.

Where?

Here in the NY area, gas prices average about $1.85/gallon for regular, and $2.00/gallon for premium.

Went to the gas dock over the weekend and gas was $2.85/ gallon for 89 octane, and $3.00/ gallon for 92 octane.

These prices are definitly going to hamper the boating season this year.

Are the Oil Companies price gouging?

Re: Gas Prices

I always buy mine at the FlyingJ truck stop here at home.

3 Reasons.

1) They have great turnover and less chance of getting bad gas. They treat their gas to keep water content down.

2) I have a FlyingJ frequent fueler card. :D

3) It's the cheapest place around. :)

Lucky you Spinner,

My marina requires that I buy gas from them, and they do not allow fueling in the marina area.

They claim its EPA regulations.

Re: Gas Prices

You mean to say that you can't pull your boat out and go get gas in it somewhere?

That seems odd.

Is it part of an agreement you have with them that you have to buy gas from them?

Does it say you can't pull your boat to "work" on it?

How are they gona prove you bought gas somewhere else?

Re: Gas Prices

Yea Spinner,

I dock my boat at the marina and the boat ramps around here require a permit, so hauling out is a major deal, and at $15 a foot for hauling, I would rather pay the gas dock prices.

Ramp permit would cost me $75 per year and I don't have a trailer.

My marina also has some of the lowest prices around, so goin to another marina is going to cost more.

I'm pretty much stuck paying the higher prices.

Regular gas has fallen(?) to $2.11 a gallon at some of the gas stations on the San Francisco Peninsula.
This ironic, as the Calipornia Penal Code has section...211 PC........ROBBERY..........no joke, that's the real section.
...Bob in Calif...
"AMERICA... Re: Gas Prices

Locally it's $1.75 for the regular grade.

One thing that frosted my buns over the weekend though:

I went on a hunting adventure in the middle of BFE.
A small town with a population of a half-dozen Cowboys and a dead dog...

Guess what... The gas prices there was AT LEAST 15 cents cheaper than the town I live in of 70k+ population.

They say it's because they have to 'truck' everything in. BULL**** !@
My city is on a MAJOR Interstate.

What about those little towns I passed through? You practically have to air drop everything in to them because they are so remote!

Now who's making the money?

H.

Re: Gas Prices

We've dropped as well, it's 83.5 cents a liter down from 90-somethin'. That's $3.79 / imperial gallon or $3.16 / american gallon. I'm going to fill up the boat in the next couple days... it's near empty and holds 150 (imp.) gallons... scary but it's over a $100. cheaper now than it was leading up to the Iraq operation.

Re: Gas Prices

im impressed with the prize of the gas in USA, thank god he gave us oil here in Venezuela, the minium wage here is 150 $ (300.000 Bs) Monthly, thats for unqualified persons, but my pay check is 1500 $ (3.000.000 Bs). A liter of gas is 0.0475 $ (95 Bs) for 95 octanes and 0.0485 $ for the premium. If i were from USA and i get retired I would move to a Venezuela, and would live like a king. If you are interested and i have some pictures of my city to show you.....Just for help....jejejejejeje..

Pictures of the national park:

http://www.enoriente.com/cgi-local/folio/imagefolio.cgi?direct=Mochima

Pictures of my house kind:

http://www.enoriente.com/cgi-local/folio/imagefolio.cgi?direct=Casas_Botes

Other Fotos of Puerto La Cruz:

http://www.enoriente.com/cgi-local/folio/imagefolio.cgi?direct=El_Morro

http://www.enoriente.com/cgi-local/folio/imagefolio.cgi?direct=Paseo_Colon

I hope you like it, you should visit it some time
