Gas primer bulb

My primer bulb (2000 Johnson 150)never gets hard no matter how long I squeeze it. I feel gas being pumped but it doesn't get hard like others I've owned. This doesn't cause me any problems - it starts and runs fine. Just wondering if this is a problem waiting to happen? Any thoughts?

The one-way valves in some bulbs leak and sometimes fail.<br /><br />Though it seems to be doing the job I think I would replace it just for peace of mind.<br /><br />Good luck.
