Gas Pump Bulb

Once you have the gas bulb pumped up hard and run the motor for a few minutes should the bulb stay hard or go back mushy?<br /><br />Thanks

A number of folks have said it should soften a little but not alot. otherwise the fuel pump is defective or there's an air leak in the lines somewhere

When the engine is running, the bulb is nothing but a wide spot in the line for fuel to flow through. It can be sucked flat if there is a restriction, but here is nothing at all that would keep it firm.
