I need to pump the gasoline out of my fuel tank. It is a below the deck tank and is bolted in. Where can I buy a gasoline siphon kit that does not cost an arm and a leg?

Re: Gas siphon kit

Check the local auto parts store for the tubing and a bulb. If you get more complex with an electric pump, you'll need to start worrying about sparks and the price will go up.

If you just want to siphon by mouth, pour some minty mouthwash in the tank first for a fresher taste :D

I have tried my local auto parts store and they have been no help. How long will the tubing need to be?

An outboard fuel tank bulb and hose will do the job very nicely. How long? Get out your tape measure and measure. One end has to go to the bottom of the tank. The other end has to end up below that level.

Ayuh,... If you're Handy enough to have a 12v electric fuel pump laying around,...
Unhook the fuel line off the boat's fuel pump,+ by-pass it with the spare...
Put the power to it,+ let it pump the tank dry...

For outboards:
With the boat on the trailer, disconnect the gas line from the motor and run it out the bilge drain and into a container; pump the bulb.

Bondo, good idea. Seems you could get one from the junk yard.

Re: Gas siphon kit

I have a cheap fuel-safe siphon pump which I purchased from Harborfreight. It works well, and only costs a few dollars. I use it to siphon my the tank of my Waverunner, right out of the fill cap. Don't know much about outboards though...

Try: harborfreight.com
