Gas smell in engine oil DF 6 Suzuki

What does it mean if I smell gas in my oil? Went to change oil in DF 6 4 stoke Suzuki 2003 and the oil is thin and has gas smell. What should I check/look for? Thank tou John

fuel pump leak, thermostat stuck open,stuck rings, too large of a prop causing lugging of the motor, or too much idling or slow trolling
