I just picked up a used 21 gallon aluminum gas tank for my 64 crestliner. Its currently empty, but it was made in 1984 so I figure it needs to be cleaned out. Anyone know a safe and effective way this?

Re: Gas tank cleaning

it depends what you want to clean out. If its just got loose debris in it, then you can flush it with some water, and either let it dry out really well, or flush a small amount of gas through after to clear the leftover water.

If its corroded, then you will want to get it pressure tested to make sure it doesn't leak before you spend any time working on it.
