gas tank for 1987 180 baja

I recently purchased a 1987 baja islander and was wondering if anyone knew how big the tank is. It take 6 -7 gallons when the gas gauge reads half full but that seems like a very small tank.

hi....welcome to i boats.....

that is most likely just a glitch of the sending unit.

run it dry or drain it and take it to the gas station.

each mfg used different size tanks in each model of boat.

Thanks. I appreciate it. How much touble would it be to repair/adjust or fix the sending unit (new boater)?? I could maybe get if repaired when I got it winterized if it is not too expensive. I was wondering if anyone new a bare minimum the tank would be??
