I'm drawing plans for a rebuild of my 16' Starcraft Supersport. I currently use 2 six gallon portable gas tanks with my 85hp rude. Can I put a permament tank in the floor? What about mixing oil? Premix with gas and then dump into the tank? what about a sending unit/fuel pump?

Thanks.

Sneak,

Your biggest obstacle is room under the floor boards. What's under there?

As far as mixing, just dump the oil in then add fuel. You'll never be exactly correct, but close. There are little mixing cylinders available that show you how much oil/fuel.

The engine has a fuel pump. It will draw fine.

A sender is no problem. They bolt to the top of the tank.

I had plenty of room in my 18' Starcraft - picked up a 26gal belly tank from KVESURPLUS.com.

The floor supports ran from the transom, to roughly the dash, about 22" apart. Just removed some foam, inserted the tank, then filled the voids with expanding foam (insulation).

Send me an e-mail at gewf631@yahoo.com if you need more info.

Ed
